We have had a lot of great stays at Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp Resorts, but Hagerstown has shot to the top of the list after our stay there last weekend.
Located in northern Maryland, just a mile from I-81, this area is often referred to as the “Crossroads of the Civil War.” The Hagerstown Jellystone is less than an hour and a half from both Washington DC and Baltimore, making this a fantastic weekend escape option for residents of those urban areas.
The Campsites
The Hagerstown Jellystone is a large resort campground, but it manages to feel cozy and comfortable despite it’s size. We attribute this to the spacing of the three main campsite loops, nicely separated…and beautifully landscaped.
We loved the campsite loop that we were in at site #104, as it was very shady and a bit tucked away from the water park action. However, the other two loops would be attractive to campers who want to be in the middle of the action, prefer sunny sites, or need space for a big rig. This is the kind of campground where you might want to look at the campground map before booking to determine your preference. Or you can check out our golf cart tour of the campground that we did live on Facebook during our visit…
Both pull thrus and back ins are available, with nice concrete pads, full hook ups, and 30/50 amp service.
It’s almost impossible to list all the activities and amenities that are available at this campground. Jellystone campgrounds in general are known for a jam-packed schedule of organized activities, and this park takes it to a whole other level.

The Hagerstown Jellystone in Maryland is an amazing pick for a family getaway. It would also make a great destination for a group camping event. The cabins are situated nicely near RV sites, so it would be easy to camp with family or friends that do not own RVs. With all the onsite activities and amenities, you could hang out at the campground for days without leaving. Or you could extend your trip and explore the surrounding historical countryside.
A special thanks to our sponsors for supporting weekly content for all our RV and camping fools.
See you at the campground,
