On this episode of the RV Family Travel Atlas podcast, we are diving into the North American Camping Report, an annual independent study supported by Kampgrounds of America.
If you want to take a more in depth look, or follow along while listening to the podcast, you can find the entire report here. You can also check out our episodes on the 2015 North American Camping Report and the 2016 North American Camping Report.
Yeah, it’s kind of a tradition…
Segment One
In the first segment we’ll chat about the major takeaways of the report, including who is camping, how much they are camping, and what sorts of amenities they are looking for.
Some of the key findings we discuss:
- Millennials continue to drive the growth of the RV industry.
- Generation Z appears to be incredible enthusiastic about camping and being in the outdoors.
- Camping brings people pleasure even before the trip takes place.
- Access to technology actually increases time spent camping for many people.
We will also talk about diversity, recreation, and the celebration of #NPS100.
Segment Two
In the second segment, we welcome Toby O’Rourke, Chief Franchise Operations Officer for Kampgrounds of America. We ask about some of the finer points in the 2017 North American Camping Report, and talk about how KOA is looking to develop their campgrounds in response to emerging trends.
The North American camper is an ongoing work in progress. So tune in to find out how the face of camping has changed in 2017.
A special thank you to our sponsors for supporting weekly content for all our RV and camping fools!
